Domiciliary services and lunch club for Somali people in need of care services - elderly and disabled people and those with long term health or mental health problems. Social services assessment needed for domiciliary care (includes personal care, domestic and social care). Escorts for medical appointments and day centres. Lunch club open to all, at New Dawn Community Centre, Barnfield Road SE18.

Advice for Somali refugees and asylum seekers. Help with housing, benefits, education, training, employment, health and racial harassment. Elders project (50+): drop-in on Mondays 10am-1pm, with hot lunch, advice, classes. Health and fitness. Mother tongue classes. Translation and interpreting service. Youth project. Supplementary classes for 12-19 year olds in science, maths and English.

Service Offered

Somali group provides advice on a range of subjects, including benefits, health, immigration, employment and training. Youth club and weekly women's group. Accompany people to appointments and provide interpreting. Carers and special needs project provides personal care for frail elderly and disabled people from Somali, Arabic and Swahili speaking communities, in their own homes.
